The One That Got Away…
As a gamer geek and a newly minted game store owner/operator, nothing could be more exciting than to have a genuine Gamer CelebrityTM like one of your Tweets, Posts, or photos.
So that happened to me today. Or at least it did for a little while.
I was taking a break from housecleaning (by the way–put this on loop and I swear to gawd you’ll get your housecleaning done in HALF the normal time: Ryuk) and sat down to check for voicemail, email, texts, and other various and sundry messages when I saw it… That glorious notification in my Android notification tray: “@feliciaday Liked your photo.” I’m fairly confident I deafened at least three dogs in the neighborhood with my squees of delight. I was so giddy I had to re-read it three times to make sure I wasn’t misreading what it actually said. Yep, there is was in crisp black text. She liked my photo. And with the thoughtless, automated sweeping motion that comes with clearing out your notifications, your missed phone calls, and the day’s weather, I swiped it away.
What did I just do??
I’ll just open up Twitter and see which photo she liked, right?
Little problem there… There was nothing in Twitter remotely resembling that Golden Ticket of a notification that graced my phone just moments previously. I didn’t even get a chance to take a screen shot to frame–err ehm, to you know, share with friends and what not. In a panic I cleared my browser’s cache, reloaded Twitter, offered up a goat (Just kidding. It was an alpaca.) and… in the immortal words of Yukon Cornelius, “Nothin’.” ::sigh::
It was the celebrity Tweet that got away. Another great story to share but no actual proof other than my heart’s now sad arrhythmic palpitations. Ah. Maybe someday.
Felicia, if you’re listening, call me, maybe. ;-}~
